8/8/2023 0 Comments Xyrem cataplexyInterestingly, narcolepsy type 1 is associated with a specific biomarker-low levels of orexin (also known as hypocretin) in the spinal fluid. The patient does not faint, and is conscious throughout the attack, which usually lasts a minute or two. A common report from patients is “my knees sometimes buckle when I laugh.” But it can be more severe, such as falling right down. These patients have EDS as described above along with cataplexy, which is truly one of the most bizarre symptoms in medicine: the sudden loss of muscle tone, triggered by strong emotions, usually positive ones, such as laughing and joking. Narcolepsy with cataplexy (narcolepsy type 1) is the most common type, afflicting 70% of all narcolepsy victims. Other symptoms sometimes seen in narcolepsy include hypnagogic hallucinations (vivid dreamlike images while falling asleep) and sleep paralysis (a temporary inability to move or speak just before falling asleep or just after waking up). These patients will tell you that they could fall asleep at any point throughout the day, and that they feel better after naps. Also known as narcolepsy type 2, narcolepsy without cataplexy affects 30% of narcoleptics, and the symptoms are primarily profound sleepiness. Narcolepsy, then, is literally “to be seized by sleep”.) (By the way, the Greek etymology of the word narcolepsy comes from narke, which means stupor, and lepsis, or seizure. This sensation of sleepiness must occur most of the time-the official DSM-5 threshold is at 3 days per week for 3 months. Both types include the core feature, which is excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS). (Also see Leschziner G, Pract Neurol 2014 14:323–331 for a comprehensive unbiased review of narcolepsy). It’s probably better for you to get your narcolepsy info here than on Jazz’s supposedly “educational” website. And partly because Jazz Pharmaceuticals is placing lots of ads in psychiatric journals urging us to diagnose more narcolepsy so that we’ll use their new drug Xyrem. So why are we asking you to read about such a rare disorder? Partly because there’s a lot of comorbidity between narcolepsy and most psychiatric disorders. It’s about as common as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, or polycythemia vera, just to put it in perspective. This puts it officially in the category of rare diseases. Narcolepsy affects about 1 out of 2000 people, for a prevalence rate of 0.05%. 8/7/2023 0 Comments Two way traffic sign mutcdThe Right Winding Road Sign (W1-5R) shall be authorized for use where there is a series of turns or curves as defined in the warrants for Turn (W1-1R) and Curve (W1-2R) signs The W1-5L sign shall be used in accordance with When the first turn of curve is to the left. Most probably, Micorosft just wants users to upgrade to Office 365. The reason isn't clear yet as to why Micorosft has suddenly imposed this policy to its loyal users. For many years, Micorosft has allowed their users to exceed past the 15GB limit without any form of warning. Moreover, Microsoft has been sending warning emails that users are almost reaching their storage limit. Despite the change being implemented, a new update has once again shocked users as Micorosoft is now imposing a 15-GB email account limit, unless users want to pay for a subscription fee to keep their accounts. If you want to see which camera models have been most successfully used, see the Best Cameras for Astrophotography. Of these 376 images, 205 were taken with DSLR or mirrorless cameras and that forms the basis of our results here.Īs you can see from the chart in the introduction above, the vast majority of these astrophotography images have been taken with full frame cameras. We analyzed 376 images shortlisted for the Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition for the past three years (2019-2021) to see what camera sensor sizes were being used. Read on for more analysis and to find out why this is the caseįull Frame vs Crop Sensor Astrophotography However, APS-C sensor cameras do have their advantages and can be better for deep sky and planetary astrophotography. That 50mm f/1.8 full-frame lens becomes a 75mm lens on APS-C. If a lens is near perfect like the Zeiss Otus 85mm f/1.4, it can be boring. In my opinion, each lens has a character and that is why we use them. So, can you use crop sensor lens on full sensor Nikon cameras The answer is yes, but there are a few things to keep in mind. (Percentage of images taken with DSLR or mirrorless cameras) Full-frame has a crop factor of 1x, while a crop-sensor camera has a narrower angle of view, meaning a higher crop factor. To find out what the perceived megapixels of your camera and lens combination use the formula: MP/CF2 (Megapixels divided by Crop Factor squared). This means that a 50mm lens on a Nikon crop sensor camera will have the same field of view as a 75mm lens on a full-frame camera. We found that full frame cameras are overwhelmingly more successful: We analyzed hundreds of images from a leading global astrophotography competition to see what types of cameras are being used. As we already discussed, a crop sensor with full frame lenses captures only the central part of an image, which is free from most optical distortions. Most DSLR and mirrorless cameras these days have either full-frame or APS-C (Crop) sensors.īut what is the difference and what is best for astrophotography?

Where it scores over its main competitors, though, is in having a colour LCD display which is used sensibly for both control and previewing of photos. It’s compact, easy-to-use, doesn’t cost that much to run and produces above-average print quality, relatively quickly. The Photosmart C4280 has a lot going for it. This is good when measured against All-in-Ones from its main competitors, even when the asking prices of those machines are quite a bit higher.Ĭolour costs are also good at 6.07p per ISO page, so you’re not paying extra for consumables, to offset the low asking price of the printer itself. Using XL consumables throughout and based on HPs published figures for print yield, which from our tests are pretty accurate, gives an ISO text page, black ink cost of 2.58p. Since the difference in price is just a few pounds, it pays to buy the XL consumables, unless your usage is very light. There are two ink cartridges in the Photosmart C4280, but these are available in Standard and ‘XL’ value versions, with the XL cartridges offering 3.5 times as many colour pages and five times as many black ones. Photo prints are clear and have plenty of detail in areas of shadow and smoother toning in coloured skies and seas. Black text print is well shaped, with little feathering, due to the use of pigment-based ink. There is some noticeable banding in coloured areas and dither patterns can also be seen. Print quality is OK, though nothing special when printing colour on plain paper. You should therefore stick to normal print mode, wherever possible. HP claims 49 seconds in normal mode and when we compared prints in both modes, there’s little difference in quality. Finally, a 15 x 10cm print took one minute 30 seconds when printing from a PC in top quality mode and five seconds longer when printing from an SD card. Our measured 2.6ppm is not that close to the 5.3ppm claimed. Things are not quite so good with the colour text and graphics page, which took one minute 54 seconds to finish. HP quotes print speeds up to 8.9ppm in normal mode, so this is actually closer to quoted speed than most printers. Our five-page text document completed in 56 seconds, giving a print speed of 5.4ppm. In fact, though, printing black text pages is commendably quick. You might expect an All-in-One at this price to be pretty slow. The extensive use of soft-function keys, where the function depends on what’s showing on the LCD screen, makes the machine easy to navigate and is a simple solution to a problem which often plagues less expensive All-in-Ones. It installs simply enough and the device is then ready to go. The software provided includes HP’s Photosmart Express, which handles all the basic tasks you might require of the machine, including OCR. They clip in place very easily and, particularly if you buy the ‘XL’ variants, shouldn’t need replacing that often. The front face of the Photosmart C4280 pulls down to provide access to the two Vivera ink cartridges, one black using pigmented ink and the other tri-colour with dyes. Buy all HP kit and you end up with a pile of blocks under your desk. It’s about time HP started to build its power supplies into its machines, like its main competitors do. Power and USB sockets at the back are the only connections and the machine uses an in-line, black-block power supply which has to be secreted somewhere. It’s a bit small for any detailed images and in fact, the screen image is not particularly good, but it’s still far easier to select photos for printing with a screen, than to have to print a proof sheet and mark it up. The colour display shows photo thumbnails when you plug any of the common types of memory card into the four slots to the left of the paper tray at the front. As well as a monochrome status display which shows print quality, size and copy numbers, the 38mm colour LCD acts with three soft-function keys for selecting mode and other menu-driven functions. Given the price of the Photosmart C4280, it’s surprising to find it fitted with two LCD displays. Using HP’s trademark in-at-the-front/out-at-the-front paper path means printed pages end up resting on top of the pile of paper ready to be fed in. The main aspect of this is the front cover, which folds down and becomes both the paper input and output trays. This machine has a remarkably small footprint, partly due to its foldaway design. The Photosmart C4280, though, costs only a tad over £50 and still has many of the attributes you would expect in a multifunction printer. Although HP sells more All-in-One machines than any other manufacturer, it’s not generally known for its offerings at the entry-level – i.e. 8/7/2023 0 Comments Powerpoint org chartTo pick a shape, go to Insert -> Shapes and select your desired shape to add to the slide. Some org charts use a rectangle shape, whereas others might use an oval, circle, etc. Step 1: Pick a Shape to Represent the Hierarchyīy using different types of shapes you can easily construct an organizational chart. Format the Org Chart diagram in PowerPoint Method 2: Using PowerPoint ShapesĪnother simple method for making an org chart in PowerPoint is to use PowerPoint Shapes. Below is an example of an org chart created using SmartArt in PowerPoint. You can format your org chart using various Ribbon menu options such as via the SmartArt Design or Format tab. Highlight different org chart levels and organizational roles Step 5: Format Org Chart in PowerPoint This is particularly true for medium-size and large organizations. Some organizations might simply prefer using designations and not names to keep the chart consistent in the wake of employees frequently leaving the organization and vacant positions being occupied by external or internal hiring. Though this isn’t necessarily done in every organization, using color codes and/or pictures can help make the chart easier to grasp. Differentiating the top tier from the bottom will help make the org chart easier to understand. You can highlight different positions in the hierarchy using color codes and pictures. Adjust the Org Chart hierarchy levels in a SmartArt Diagram Step 4: Highlight Different Positions in the Org Chart When adding individuals, you can also promote or demote names in the hierarchy. You can adjust hierarchies in the proper order using the given SmartArt menu. Add text to SmartArt Org Chart diagram Step 3: Adjust Hierarchies in Proper Order You can also add or remove sections to structure your chart. Once you have picked your desired chart type, add text to show your organization’s hierarchy. Insert an Org Chart in PowerPoint using SmartArt Step 2: Add Text to Placeholders The chart types in the Hierarchy menu include a standard org chart, picture org chart, name, and title org chart, half-circle organization chart, horizontal organization chart, hierarchy lists, and charts, etc. Some presenters might also find other options, such as cycle and list chart types, helpful in making organizational charts.
